Ghostbusters RPG set in the fictional city of Port Sentinel - Admin Comm

Still making headlines all across the country, the Ghostbusters are at it again.

Port Sentinel Ghostbusters want you! Be one of the few, the proud, the foolhardy - Become a Ghostbuster! Your local franchise is hiring -- Apply in person today.

Why worry? Each one of us is carrying an unlicensed nuclear accelerator on his back.

Port Sentinel is looking for original characters to star as Ghostbusters. Taking our cue from the animated series as well as the movies, Port Sentinel adventures will vary from the wildly absurd to touchingly poignant, with stops along the way for suspense, humor, and drama.

Delve into the secrets of the Midnight Society, team up with the protector spirit Lantern Jack, and generally cause comedic chaos all while trying to earn an honest buck!

We'd like to get a sample of your brain tissue.

Players will have the opportunity to shape the past, present and future of Port Sentinel through their actions in-character and by suggesting plots and adventure themes.

Format: Livejournal
Genre: Ghostbusters - Supernatural/Comedy/Horror/Suspense
Contact: port_sentinel [at] live [dot] com or PM mod_ghostmaster
Age limit: 16+

General Rules
1) Although the general tone of the game aims to be light-hearted comedy in the footsteps of the movies and cartoon series, adult situations and plots are to be expected.

2) Players must be at least 16 years of age. Characters applying to be Ghostbusters must be at least 20 years of age. (No Scrappy-Doo's Junior Ghostbusters here, folks.)

3) There is no minimum (or maximum) post length, but try to give your fellow players something to work with. Players who frequently reply with one or two word replies will be asked for more in-depth responses. Repeat offenders may be asked to leave the game. Likewise, players who dominate a scene or feel the need to write a novel for every reply may be asked to tone down their response.

4) No in-character "net speak", unless your character is corresponding via computer, text, etc.

5) In-character action = in-character consequences. For example, if you taunt a big bad demon, don't complain when it tosses a fireball in your direction.

6) Remember that players are not their characters. Sometimes, something may be said in-character that does not necessarily represent the beliefs and ideals of the player.

That said, refrain from deliberately inflammatory comments

7) Be an adult. If you have an issue with another player that cannot be easily resolved, alert a Moderator. Do not lower yourself to playground tactics. No name-calling, no grudge-matches, no mud slinging. The Moderators are not preschool teachers but do reserve the right to place a player in time-out.

7b) We realize everyone has the need to blow off steam occasionally. However, if there is a serious issue, we would prefer to handle it in-house. We'd rather not first find out about an issue from bad_rpers_suck or similar community. On the other hand, if you have a problem with The GhostMaster, feel free to vent over at bad_mods_suck.

8) All major plots and life-changing events must be approved by a Moderator. This includes character death/resurrection, pregnancies, changes to Port Sentinel geography, etc.

9) The rules are subject to change to fit the current players and situations. Players will be notified of changes immediately.

10) The Moderators' decisions are final.

11) All players need to have friended gbps_infocenter and joined both gbps_ooc and gb_portsentinel. Friending other players' character journals is strongly recommended but not necessary.

12) Have fun!

Posting Rules
All public in-character actions should take place at gb_portsentinel.

Characters livejournals can be used as personal diaries or for private encounters (explicit sexual liaisons, conspiracy meetings, etc).
